Cheap, but even then don't waste your money here. I went with my parents and all the dishes we ordered were very sweet and otherwise bland. One dish had a little more spice than the others, but it was such uninspiring food none of us finished. The coconut rice was incredibly sweet, too and the paratha was thick and stiff and just not what it should be. The staff were friendly enough, but to be honest that doesn't matter with food this disappointing. Sorry, but I cannot recommend this restaurant. Many of the others nearby look so much better! I wish we had gone to one of them.

We enjoyed our impromptu meal here while visiting Maidstone. The food was very well prepared and tasty although the menu was fairly standard. There were some house specials that introduced a welcome to the usual fare. Service was good. The venue is looking a little tired and would benefit from a refurbishment.
Well after all of the negative reviews we were actually dreading going. The staff were really friendly and the food was delicious. We eat out or takeaways all indian once a week. The food and service we had was fine. The restaurant was very busy. Couldn't fault it.
Establishment has closed down. Travelled 50 miles with family to Rochester for an afternoon out. We agreed we would eat at Tast of Two Cities as we have had good experiences here before. Checked Google and Web site before we set off, stated opens at 18.00, nothing about closure. Arrived to find venue shut down, tables stripped, frontage filthy with mail piled up in entrance. Would have been really helpful if something had been stated on Web site or Google.
My wife and I visit Rochester on a regular basis and probably visit this restaurant in the High street about 3 times a year. We have always had a really tasty, good value meal served piping hot and freshly cooked. We have never had a negative experience.
Deserves 4.5 out of 5. Very good place to eat at on Rochester High Street. Though not large, it is cosy, and has very friendly and helpful staff. I did appreciate the offer on vegetarian choice. Good wine at reasonable price. An overall excellent experience. Will definitely go back there.
I would never return, they were not ready for us when we arrived (which does happen) we asked to get a drink from the bar to stay out of the way whilst waiting for out table, the waiter was very unhappy with this and kept very loudly telling us to sit at a table and wait. He was extremely rude and it was very embarrassing as other customers could hear him. Our table was booked for 19:30 at 21:00 we finally got our starters! Whilst the food was ok, the service was disgusting, not recommended for a relaxing evening out.
Being new to the area the first curry house I tried was the Cumin Club however when it was closed the other night I decided to give A Taste of Two Cities a try. Initial impressions were that the decor was nothing special however the serving staff were very friendly. When the food came out though I was really impressed, the flavours were very good (although some dishes were a little oily), the portions excellent and the price also very reasonable.
