Overview: if you have thick, frizzy, curly-ish hair thats unmanageable, go to Anne.
I have A LOT of hair. I’m talking normal-sized strands but a lot of them which makes my hair super thick. It’s also frizzy and lands somewhere in between curly and wavy. It’s chaos most of the time. I’ve gone to Anne twice now and she is awesome at dealing with this monstrosity called my hair. She takes her time with washing and cutting, and is super friendly, fun to talk to, and knowledgeable. She does not pressure products to buy, but gives feedback and recommendations based on the health of the hair and typical upkeep (I.e. applied heat) if you ask. Oh yeah, she also is very meticulous when it comes to shaving. I have an undercut and she takes the time to reshape and carefully trim the undercut to my liking. It turns out great and with fresh lines every time! Her prices are very fair, and you can really tell she cares for her clients and enjoys her work! I can’t recommend her more highly :)
Well I was given a haircut that was $5 over the listed fee after I asked, it wasn’t a particularly even or quality haircut, and when I called this location to fix said haircut (but with a different salonist), I was told “we aren’t a salon, we are studios rented out by salonists”; whatever that means. Overall a poor quality haircut, rude staff, and un-accommodating.
I regret coming to this salon. I went to Alannis, and I would NOT recommend it. I did not get something even close to what I asked for. I asked for balayage, and instead she turned me into a complete blonde. I sent her pictures a couple days before my appointment, and even a couple minute before she started on my hair. Below I will show before and after. I was very disappointed with the results. It was not worth what I paid for at all, it literally looked like I tried to dye my own hair. I had 4 different shades in my hair. I called the manager the next day hoping to get help, but she said she couldn't help because everyone basically has their own shop inside the salon. I talked to Alannis, and asked for a refund at least for the dying part because it was really nothing close to what I wanted. Her response was "It states in my policy that I don't give refunds. I spent too much product and time" First of all I was never shown, or sent a policy. Second, it's not my problem that she spent time or product..... should've given me something at least similar to what I wanted. She said she would give me "20%" of what I paid, but I never heard back from her even after I tried contacting her. I had to go to someone else to try and fix my hair, because it was so bad that I couldn't even leave the house. Please everyone refrain from going to her because it will be a big disappointment , waste of money, and time. Down below I will show a picture what I wanted, before my hair was touched by her and after.
My stylist has a shop in this location. It is clean & comfortable. The parking is a little wonky & requires a mobile phone.
Bryan is an excellent colorist, cutter and stylist. I've been platinum for almost 10 years now l love it.
JAMMIE SUE is such a sweetheart. A real professional/perfectionist. She took her time and meticulously, step by step explained the process in order to get the best results. I was so happy with my cut, color, hair and make-up trial for my wedding. The outcome was beautiful. The results were much better than I had ever expected. I would hugely recommend Jammie. Can't wait for my wedding day, I'm going to be gorgeous.
Amy Miller at the Rockville location, is THE best stylist. I have been going to her for many years. She knows color, cuts, styling and, always showing you how to achieve the same style so you can achieve that look when you do your hair! She is truly honest, kind, and will never try to sell you on something just to sell you a product. She will will tell you the truth and, it’s a pleasure to be in her company. Her room is clean and she follows the protocol of COVID to a tee. She is beyond talented and up to date. I promise, this is my honest and truthful review.
Attempted to get my hair cut for a Mother's Day gift and waited an hour before giving up on my appointment. Stylist texted us to move up our appointment immediately after we called and scheduled it. When we arrived said it would be 15 minutes. No worries, we were early. Then came out after half an hour to say to say 20 more minutes. Once and hour passed from our scheduled time we gave up. Very unprofessional and inconsiderate of our time.
