Tried Star Fish Bar while we were away. Honestly one of the best fish and chip shops in the UK. The Burger of Love, stopped my heart! (in a good way). My Wife's fish and chips are fresh...and tasty. Highly recommend!!!! ????
Twice now the order wasn’t as good as it was. Done know why my be the time of night Should not matter. But yes definitely down hill. Looking for a other fish n chips shot shame
We have been buying from this chippy approx. 3 times/mth for the last 4 years . The mushy peas became too watery and too expensive so we dropped it. On 2 previous occasions one of the fish was not cod as ordered. Still, we didnt complain. The large cod bought today was sooo small and nowhere near the size we had about 10 days ago.The person behind the counter told me its now only 8 oz. I dont think mine was that weight. We understand that prices have to increase but do the portions have to get smaller as well?? I tried to raise my concerns but the chap behind the counter wouldnt have it . We are trying to support this local business but customer loyalty counts for nothing
It's so hit and miss in this chippy. Had a Cod & battered sausage and a single portion of chips plus a portion of mushy peas. Got home (a mile away) and chips were cold and the batter on the sausage was rubbery, the mushy pea portion in the polystyrene cup was daylight robbery. We try to support local businesses but will not be back to this one and will look elsewhere in town from now on.
Excellent fish and chips! Light crispy batter and a moist piece of fish. Tasty chips and friendly staff.
Whilst staying at Centre Parcs Longleat we fancied some fish and chips and visited this shop based on it's reviews we as average rating and closest to the resort. The customer service was great but overall let down by the quality of food. Firstly the food was overly oily and the batter on the fish was plain and soggy due to the amount of oil used.
A food car crash, the bag of chips were more like mashed potatoes as they were so greasy and congealed to a mush, the fish was dry with soggy batter. And the curry sauce literally would not come out of the carton , Only the bin benefited from it,
Soooo yummy! The fish cakes are so good, they taste like a dream, the chips are so tasty. Only issue is the cheesy chips sometimes lacks much cheese.
