Old style down to earth pub
Not your average country pub. Very welcoming, friendly locals. Entertaining barman. Great place.
Saw previous reviews and went here, WRONG!!! no food, full of very loud drunken locals at 4:30 in the afternoon, and a very stressed appearing barman. Family of 4 turned upand couldn't leave fast enough. Change yr facebook advertising
Absolutely amazing local pub, Tony made us so welcome and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves every time we went in during our week holiday.. buttons the dog enhanced the experience for our daughter. Highly recommend to anyone who likes a laugh and a decent pint.
Unfortunately it was supposed to be toby carvery but it was a pub with no food just drink, still they let us use the toilet which was good of them
Spent 2 weeks on nearby campsite, the landlord of this pub was one of the friendliest I've ever come across. He really made a fuss of all our friends and families ... would 100% recommend the short walk to this proper pub from the holiday park ... thanks.
The blackbeards???? went down a treat ????
Came for lunch with my parents. The building itself is decent, but there was only one member of staff working and the food took a long time to arrive. It was ok food, and the portion was a little small.
Generally the ambience was a little sombre, not helped by the small portable radio blasting in the corner. A little eerie.
With some extra staff and some sprucing up this place could be very good. Potential is there, just needs a little love!
Lovely welcoming landlord n punters. Let us camp in there carpark n use shower facilities for the night. Dogs friendly.

Quick Facts About Salmon Inn

The Salmon Inn place has several strengths that are mentioned in the comments. One of the strengths is that it is a great, friendly pub with a welcoming atmosphere. The locals are friendly, and the barman is described as entertaining and making the patrons feel welcome. This creates a positive customer experience and encourages customers to return to the pub. Additionally, the pub is described as an old-style, down-to-earth establishment, which can be appealing to customers seeking an authentic pub experience.
Another strength of the Salmon Inn place is that it is pet-friendly. This can be a major advantage for pet owners who want to enjoy a drink or meal without leaving their pets behind. Allowing pets in the pub shows that the establishment is accommodating and can attract pet owners as customers.
The pub also has a large beer garden, which is another strength. A beer garden provides a comfortable outdoor space for customers to enjoy their drinks and socialize. This can be particularly appealing during the warmer months when people prefer to be outside. The availability of a large beer garden can attract more customers, as it offers an additional option for seating and socializing.
The pub is also praised for serving great pints. Good quality drinks can be a major strength for a pub as it contributes to customer satisfaction and loyalty. If a pub consistently serves high-quality drinks, word of mouth can spread, attracting more customers who are seeking a good pint.
On the other hand, the comments also highlight some weaknesses of the Salmon Inn place. One customer had a negative experience where they found the pub full of loud drunken locals and a stressed barman. This indicates that the pub may sometimes attract rowdier crowds, which can be off-putting for some customers. Additionally, the absence of food in the pub is seen as a disappointment for some visitors who expected it to be a Toby Carvery. Limited food options can limit the appeal of the pub for customers who may be looking for a more substantial meal.
Another weakness mentioned is the slow service and limited staff. One customer experienced a long wait for their food, and the pub only had one staff member working. This indicates that the pub may be understaffed, which can result in longer waiting times and potentially impact the overall customer experience. A sombre ambience was also mentioned by a customer, which suggests that the pub may need some improvements in terms of decor and atmosphere.
