Today was my first visit and I must say its become my favourite pub restaurant in Hudds. Amazing atmosphere to great lush well presented food. Staff were ever so polite, friendly and efficient. I will be definitely visiting again and again when I visit Huddersfield. The Christmas love and spirit was for sure felt here. Highly recommended!!!!! Thank you to all staff from who were looking after us to the amazing chef who prepared our excellent yummy mouth melting food ❤️

Not been here for many years as it went down hill.

We tried today, the car park was busy so we figured that was a good sign.Tuesday afternoon and busy.

There was plenty of seating. The staff were lovely friendly.

Very clean.

Very welcoming.

The food was absolutely amazing. Fresh, home made huge portions and a good early bird deal.

I'm going to book for my birthday.

Will definitely return and have recommended to all my family.

First time visit after many photos of family that have gone. Not disappointed! 100% recommend booking. Staff are lovely, cosy atmosphere and the food is amazing!!!! Huge portions too so don't be afraid to ask for a doggy bag!! Definitely will go again.

Absolutely amazing food! This was my first visit here and I’ll most certainly be coming back for more.

The food is absolutely delicious - we had the beef lasagne, the vegetarian lasagne and Sunday roast which was melt in the mouth beef served on a bed of mashed potatoes and side vegetables. The lasagne was served with a garlic ciabatta and side salad that was lovely and fresh and crisp.

The staff are absolutely lovely and always happy to answer any queries you have. Lunch menu available at set price for 1/2/3 courses.

The layout of the restaurant was quaint and warm. Such a lovely atmosphere. 10/10 recommend. Absolutely stunning place and food

Highly recommend this place, me and my fiancee had a meal here, very good servings you won't go away hungry, I couldn't eat all mine, the food is spot on and we are very fussy eaters, the staff are lovely couldn't ask for better, the pub and atmosphere is spot on.

I had the ham salad (it's hard to find a pub that does a classic salad but these do and fiancee had chicken in some sort of sauce (can't remember what it was) we both thoroughly enjoyed it.

Both food and drink prices aren't too bad either (and I'm tight lol).

We found the Royal & Ancient after learning it was taken over by the the owners of our local pub, and so glad we found it! The brie and signature burger I had was nothing short of great! Chips... you won't have seen chips like these. Along with the great tasting food and the extra effort in the little details they put in to make the food stand out, I'm glad we found this place.

The staff were lovely, prices were very fair and the look and feel of the pub was very nice.

We will 100% see you again!

Visited on 29/08 & was absolutely beautiful. - as a GF/gluten free diner - I was slightly concerned over how much of the menu would be ok - to then be told virtually everything is either naturally GF or can be made up for me. - I had garlic mushrooms for starter - I couldn't believe how big the portion was for a starter! - was absolutely lovely & piping hot. - for main was gammon - was absolutely beautiful - very moist & had a smoked BBQ taste which was amazing. Photos don't do it justice - can't wait to return x

Had heard good things about this place from several people so we decided to try it ! Everything was perfect .. I had roast of the day and its one of the best I've ever had and I've had a lot! The veg the Yorkshire pudding to the roast beef mash and gravy was heaven ! My partner got the chicken mozzarella sandwich with chunky chips and side salad and that was also first class ! Was tempted to try a starter but I'm so glad I didn't as the portions were massive!! Very impressed and we are already planning on going back next week ! Went back again this last weekend and it's still top notch and very busy..
