Quick Facts About Quay 22

Quay 22 appears to have several strengths, based on the comments provided. Firstly, the staff is consistently praised for being friendly and accommodating. They engage in conversations with customers, provide recommendations, and create a welcoming atmosphere. This is a significant strength as it contributes to a positive dining experience and encourages customers to return.
The affordability of the food at Quay 22 is another strength. It is described as well-priced and good value for money. This appeals to customers who are conscious of their budget and makes the café accessible to a wider range of people.
The quality and taste of the food are also commended. Customers mention enjoying a variety of menu options, from paninis to cakes and milkshakes. The chocolate cake and chocolate milkshake, in particular, are highlighted as being exceptional. The café is known for its tasty food and delicious homemade cakes.
Quay 22's dog-friendly policy is also seen as a positive aspect. Customers appreciate being able to bring their dogs to the café and enjoy their meal in a dog-friendly environment. This creates a welcoming atmosphere for pet owners and adds to the overall appeal of the place.
Another strength mentioned is the variety of options available on the menu. Customers mention enjoying a variety of dishes, including Bakewell tart slice, Victoria sponge, and halloumi and sweet chilli panini. This variety caters to different tastes and preferences, making the café suitable for a wide range of customers.
The café's ability to handle large groups of customers is another positive aspect. While one comment mentions that the service was not the best when a big group arrived, it is difficult to determine if this was a one-time occurrence or a consistent issue. However, other comments do not mention any problems with service, indicating that the café is generally able to handle large groups efficiently.
On the other hand, there are also some weaknesses mentioned in the comments. One customer states that the service was not the best when they arrived, possibly due to the café's small size and their large group. This suggests that the café may struggle to accommodate larger groups comfortably and efficiently. However, it is important to note that this seems to be a singular experience and may not be a recurring issue.
Another weakness mentioned is the price. One customer feels that the prices are currently on the high side for paper plates and cardboard coffee cups, leading to a lower rating. While this is only one comment, it highlights a potential concern with the pricing strategy of Quay 22. It may be worth considering whether the current price is justified given the disposable nature of their serving items.
Despite these potential weaknesses, the overall sentiment towards Quay 22 appears to be positive. The strengths outweigh the weaknesses in terms of customer satisfaction and overall dining experience. The friendly staff, well-priced and delicious food, variety of options, and dog-friendly policy contribute to making Quay 22 a recommended café to visit in North Devon.

Friendly staff well priced and fantastic food. We asked for some recommendations for fish restaurants in the local area and we had a great chat and a list of recommendations. Had chocolate cake and chocolate milkshake. Best I’ve had in ages
Tasty food and great menu options. Service wasn't the best when we arrived, i'm not sure if this was just because we were a big group and the cafe is quite small. We all ordered hot food which came quickly. Dog friendly inside which was good.
Great food and drinks and a variety of options available. The service was also excellent and accommodating. Bakewell tart slice and Victoria sponge were the standout items and were exceptional, if in North Devon, then definitely worth a visit. A thank you to all the staff and special shout out to Gemma.
Lovely food and coffee! We nipped in here for a bite to eat and really enjoyed our lunch, the staff in particular were so friendly and chatty! Would definitely recommend this cafe.
Lovely little café, been many times. Friendly staff who know their customers. Good food and great value. Can get very busy so go early for lunch. Very dog friendly.
The most delicious panini ever ???? my Mum loved hers too and so did my partner. I will definitely be back next trip xx
Still serving great food. My latest favourite is the halloumi and sweet chilli panini. Can also recommend the strawberry milkshake.
I understand that times are tough but feel that the price is currently on the high side for paper plates and cardboard coffee cups. As such dropped a rating for now.
They have recently added a canopy which is a nice addition given the unpredictable weather.
Original review 5 stars (approx 7 months prior)
Great café with very friendly (and dog friendly) staff. Thanks to the patio area they are able to offer good service even under the current covid restrictions.
Good coffee and great cake. Can highly recommend the bacon, brie, and cranberry panini as well as the chocolate cake.
Amazing home made cakes that are cut into great big slices! Lovely covered and protected outdoor eating area, lovely atmosphere. Friendly and welcoming service. Dog friendly outside. Good quality meals
