I really love this beauty supply store, it’s always very clean, there is a decent amount of products and Maurice is very knowledgeable and professional and fun to talk to. He also sells good quality clothes and shoes, oh and I can’t forget the music he plays, he always has the right type of music playing while you shop. The only wish I have is that he would expand into Bradenton ????

Marvin was so helpful! I called to see if he had a certain type of hair for boho box braids and he assisted me over the phone. Then again, he was very helpful inside the store to match the hair to the picture I had as reference! He even told me how many packs I’d need! 10/10
This is my first ever review, i’ve never felt the need before but this place was so awful I had to leave one. I am so offended by the way that the man behind the counter treated me. He was so incredibly rude. The place itself stinks. It’s dark and nasty. Really bad. The tall man behind the counter was horribly rude. Accuses everyone of stealing. He followed me around the store questioning what I was doing as I was looking at $1 headbands and wouldn’t stop telling me he had cameras. I couldn’t even look at anything without him following me around. The rudest experience I’ve had in a while. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone, I’d give it 0 stars if I could. Not to mention the stuff inside is ugly as hell. This place should be shut down and replaced by someone who knows what they’re doing, all the negativity will come back to bite these people.
I went in to purchase a wig for my mother's 84th Birthday. The man that assisted me was very helpful. I am so satisfied with the purchase. The style and quality of the wig was A+. I know that I am a consumer, but your kindness was very much appreciated.
Edit: I really like(ed) this store. The selection is amazing. They just never open on time. Twice now ive come at 9am the hours that are posted online and on the door and they were not open. Currently been waiting for 30 mintues to go in, luckily my stylist is understanding.
Today was my 3rd and final time i went at 945 and the shop was not open with signs and google clearly stating they open at 9. I really want to support black local businesses but this is just a disregard for customers. ???? i will not be returning.
I wish I could leave a positive review but all other review must be friends of the owner or something. This store has a very low selection of products. Maybe their wig selection is better I did not look at it but the product selection is awful!! Horrible. The store seems unclean. It’s very dark. I got out as fast as I walked in. With such low options this city is prime picking for someone who wants to open a black beauty supply store.
Well I've been coming to NY Connection for years even when the store was twice as big! I can always find what I need and Maurice is nice and professional with each visit and for those that like to complain, you have to consider that he's Single Handedly running the shop
