The overall atmosphere was inviting and relaxing. The nail tech was friendly. I chose a gel mani and pedi and unfortunately the gel was applied too close to the skin and after a day or two the polish lifted off my skin and left tags that caught on my hair and clothes. I tried to snip the parts that were lifting up, but after about week the entire section of polish was lifted off of my nail. I was initially happy with the results and I had a relaxing time. I just wish that for the price I paid it would’ve last longer ☹️

Had a full set of acrylics done and none of the nails are even in length or thickness.
Acrylic was left underneath my nails
And the polish was done horribly. The sides of each nails don’t have polish on them.
Each nail is uneven
Honestly the worst set I’ve ever had done. It’s embarrassing and I now I have to pay more money to have them fixed elsewhere
Will not be going back and really just wish if they weren’t able to do what I was asking they would have said so instead of charging me $70 for nails that look to have been done by someone still learning
DO NOT GO! SERIOUSLY!
In case you want to read this long post. Check the timeline of events that happened:
Saturday at 4.30 I went to Nikki's Nails
-needed to remove my gel nails (real not acrylic)
-wanted to get a new gel manicure set.
Got done at 6 pm or so.
Came home around 6.15 pm washed my hands. You can't imagine the horror on my face when I looked at my hands. [check photos now]
Nikki's nails are closed on Sunday. I came to them right after work on Monday with a band-aid on my thumb and the rest of the fingers started to bubble.
How I was treated:
Upon entry, I calmly explained the situation and asked for my 50$ back and I wanted my nails not fixed, but just off. I didn't want anything to do with this bubbling, peeling manicure.
My nails were done by three different people, one person was taking off, one person was putting the base, and one person was painting. So of course, when everyone does everything nobody cares. So the girl that I saw on Monday, was the one who actually put the color on. She yelled, was rude, told me they won't return the money and they cannot fix anything for me right now and I needed to wait 2,5 hours for someone to get free. When I asked for the manager (calmly) she said she was out of town (convenient), but the cherry on top was that after she continued yelling at me and peeling WITH HER hands my nail. Despite all of this, she said I was being difficult....
Now, I have never written a bad review for any place, because I really try to get all my problems resolved in a quiet an professional way, but this won't do.
I strongly recommend not going to Nikki's nails. This place is trash. Literal trash. It's not worth even checking.
Went yesterday, came earlier than our appointment and they had us start early! no waiting. the older lady who did my nails was very nice, did a fantastic job and definitely took her time(I've been to other places who do a quick in and out job but don't do as nice of a job). She had me make sure the shapes were all good and even and fixed anything i asked her to. took 2 hrs and I love my nails! cost more than the other places but definitely worth it! you get what you pay for. highly recommend and will be back!!
My family and I have been going to Nikki Nails for the past 15+ years. Nikki and her staff are welcoming, attentive and always provide high-quality service. The nail techs are skilled, meticulous, and definitely the best around! I love Nikki Nails and supporting a local business. I 100% recommend to anyone looking for a new salon to call their home.
I love Nikki Nails! The staff is always friendly and accommodating. I almost never make an appointment; they’re usually available or make time for me to get in. They are so efficient - an appointment to take off & redo a full set of dip powder nails takes about 40-50 minutes (the shortest I’ve ever experienced - some places take 1.5 hours and that seems way too long now that I’ve been spoiled with NN for the past two years!). I also love that they offer beverages (water, wine). The pictures I uploaded are of mood changing nails - SO beautiful! Don’t be afraid to ask for more than one (or two) colors!
PS: I went back in 3 days later because *I* chipped my nail pulling my laptop out of my bag (don’t ask how - idk ????????‍♀️) and the guy who did it fixed it right away in about 10 minutes! Looove Nikki Nails!!
I went here with my friend almost a week ago. The person that did my nails didn't even ask what shape I wanted them and the polish is already chipping. Charged more for the service than I was expecting as well, and I'm not sure why. There are definitely better nail salons in Ames. They are didn't look like they properly sanitized equipment between customers and were reusing lots of things they shouldn't...
Bad experience. I have just done my acrylic nails 2 days and they said it wont come off but it’s already broken without doing anything
