It's located just a few shops Way from the main street but it's worth walking there for a quick lunch. Good value and freshly prepared light battered fish! The chips are nice with curry sauce / peas.. The fish & chips are way better than a lot of the branded shop around 5b4 area. The owner is very nice and friendly during our visit! Would recommend and eat here again
The food was good. Standard English Fish and Chips with Curry Sauce and Tea along with Butter and bread.
Only issue was they only accept Cash. The second issue we faced on the day was the Rubicon Can Soft drink was Expired in Nov 2020 and they were still serving in July 2021. ( Just check the date - probably still using pre-COVID-19 stock)
Wish there was a review less than 1 star. Very terrible service in this restaurant. We went paid for 9 mini fish, chips and peas. We were served these without any peas. We weren’t told why there were no peas either. Seeing this, we decided to buy 3 curry sauces. But the sauces weren’t enough, we then asked to get 5 curry sauces and a bottle of water in place of our missing peas which had no explanation. The man serving used swear words on us and shouted at us that we were being petty and threatened not to serve us further. After minutes of argument, he gave us sauces and no water and handed us 50p as the difference. He then started shouting that even the seats were are sitting on was £2 each and claimed to have given extra chips, not that we were asked to pay for seats initially nor did we ask him for extra chips but he started making these points up aggressively for asking for something else in place of missing peas which they couldn’t explain. Why make us pay for peas and not serve us and bully/ get rude at us for asking for alternative. Such a horrible service. My kids were actually tearful on a supposed fun trip to Cleethorpes due to this incident. I would ensure I stay clear next time and warn anyone I know going there! Worst dinning experience ever!
We've been here lots of times as a family .
The portions are absolutely massive and the food is amazing the chips are fantastic.
We sadly wasted loads because the portions was massive and we only had a small cod meal ( fish chips side bread butter and cup of tea ) .
My 10 year old had to have an adult meal as haddock as skin on it and couldn't take it of .
The lady who served us was great and couldn't do enough for us .
How ever the restaurant was absolutely freezing we had to keep our coats on . ( we choose here as we like to sit and be warm to eat our meals )
Over all still our favourite chippy in the area
I really like this fish and chip shop. Ate in and was served pleasantly and efficiently with did delivered quickly.
The place is clean with bright pleasant decor.
The cod and chips I had was delicious with notably tasty batter.
I will probably always go here when I visit Cleethorpes.
Only fish and chips restaurant we go too when visiting Cleethorpes. Fresh fish always and the staff are so friendly. Also a dog friendly restaurant! ????
Great food and service. Only problem is the illegal surcharge if you pay by card instead of cash
Thank you again Meggies. Our first time was because you were almost the only dog friendly place but served great fish haddock suppers at a fair price. We returned today loaded with 4 young grandchildren plus dog hoping for the same and we were not disappointed, in fact, more impressed as the perfectly cooked chips and crisp battered haddock plus super mushy peas were just as good but you went the extra mile for our daughter whose 7 week old with bad timing needed feeding as her plate arrived and you kept it warm on request. Thank you so much. Best wishes for the future and look forward to coming again. Highly recommended..
