Magic Wok is the best Chinese restaurant in Windermere. The staff are so lovely and we’ve always thoroughly enjoyed our takeaways. They have a good selection of gluten-free dishes and the staff are really understanding and helpful when it comes to dietary restrictions.
Food is very delicious and they gave you a very good portion. If you ever in Windermere and fancy some Chinese food you should give a try!
We had chicken chow mein, egg fried rice and ribs with sweet and sour sauce. And very tasty it was too. Very good service, we went for a short walk after ordering, sat in the car outside and the food was very kindly brought out to us with free prawn crackers. Also the food is very hot, I would definitely recommend magic wok if you are visiting Windermere.
Food tastes decent, but pretty samey- Peking ribs and sweet & sour pork on the set meal for two is basically the same taste but one is boneless, for example. Battered porky thing in a sweet and sour sauce.
Feel like the oil could be fresher, based on the batter on the ribs and pork. Pretty dark and had a bit of 'that' flavour.
Salt & Pepper wings tasted great, a bit light on the chilli for me but (nicely) heavy on garlic, also very heavy on white/brown onion, leading to a wet steamy dish meaning the crispy batter is pretty not crispy.
'meat' (pork?) Spring rolls were good too.
