Great oldies barber shop, simple and sweet. Guys haircut about $20 -$25. Only like 2 to 3 barbers and they been there a while. Located in downtown Plainfield. Great spot with plenty of good places eat just steps away.
Solid barbershop, trust the guys with my beard/hair and it's at a great cost. They make for good talk and appreciate their approach with clients (especially special needs youngins). Really dig this place
Been coming to Tony for the last 4-5 years. He's a maestro of his craft, both jawing and haircutting. Lincoln Way is a small, old school barber with three chairs, a small TV, and a few chairs to sit in and wait.
I can't speak to the cuts provided by the other barbers, but would easily recommend Lincoln Way without reservation.
If your coming here for a fade DO NOT GO. I asked Tony for a low fade and a light trim on the top and ended up with 90% of my hair shaved clean off my head. He buzzed off all my hair from the sides leaving a small patch of hair on top. If I could rate 0 stars I would.
Awesome barber shop. Staff was very friendly. Reasonably priced. Gabe was an excellent barber. Took his time with the haircut and it came out great. Nicely done taper. Understood what I was looking for without much explaining. One of the better haircuts I have gotten. Highly recommend.
Stopped in for the first time about four months ago and I've had my hair, beard, and mustache taken care of twice by Gabe. He took the time to listen to what I wanted and then did a terrific job. Turned me on to an excellent pomade (Iron Heritage Flathead) that has worked wonders on my big, curly mustache. Be sure to call ahead though. Sometimes they close early on Saturdays.
Went to get a quick touch up last Friday. Simple shape up on the sides and scissor cut on top. It was my first time there. The barber Walter did a terrible job and it took AN HOUR. I've never had a hair cut take an hour in my entire life. He didn't listen to what I was telling him and he started using a buzzer on the top of my head to shorten the length after I specifically said it needs to be scissor cut. A week has gone by and it's grown out so unevenly it looks like I cut my own hair. I now need to go get my hair cut a second time just to fix how bad he messed it up. This place had so many good reviews that my this was unbelievable to me. So disappointing. How did they allow this man to be a barber.
Very nice clean shop ...friendly barbers (3) ...no appointments ...first come/ first serve ...hot lather and straight razor treatment etc !!! Reasonable

Strengths:
1. Old School Atmosphere: The Lincoln Way Barber Shop has a great oldies vibe that appeals to many customers. The simple and sweet ambiance creates a comfortable and familiar experience for visitors.
2. Experienced Barbers: With only 2 to 3 barbers who have been working there for a while, customers can trust the expertise and skill of the staff. This creates a sense of reliability and consistency, which is important in a barber shop.
3. Location: Being in downtown Plainfield gives the barber shop an advantage as there are plenty of good places to eat nearby. This can attract customers who want to grab a meal before or after their haircut.
4. Cost: The prices for a guys' haircut range from $20 to $25, which is considered reasonable and affordable in the industry. Offering good quality at a great cost can be a significant strength of the barber shop.
5. Customer Service: Many customers appreciate the friendly staff at Lincoln Way Barber Shop. They feel welcomed and valued, which enhances the overall experience. The barbers' approach with clients, especially special needs individuals, demonstrates their commitment to providing excellent service to all customers.
6. Highly Skilled Barber: Tony, one of the barbers at Lincoln Way, has received praise for his outstanding skills both in conversing with customers and delivering precise haircuts. This showcases the expertise and talent of the barbers at the shop.
7. Trustworthy Recommendation: A customer who has been going to Tony for 4-5 years highly recommends Lincoln Way Barber Shop without reservation. This serves as a testament to the shop's consistency and quality of service.
8. Excellent Haircut Experience: Another customer commends Gabe, one of the barbers at Lincoln Way, for his excellent haircutting skills. They specifically mention how Gabe took his time, understood the customer's needs, and delivered a great taper. This positive feedback indicates that customers can expect a satisfying haircut experience at the shop.
Weaknesses:
1. Lack of Fade Expertise: One customer warns that Lincoln Way Barber Shop may not be the best choice for individuals seeking a fade. They had a negative experience with Tony, who mistakenly shaved off most of their hair instead of giving a low fade. This incident suggests that the barbers may not have the same level of skill and precision when it comes to fades.
2. Inconsistency among Barbers: There is a discrepancy between positive and negative experiences with different barbers. While Tony received negative feedback for his fade, the customer's experience with Gabe was excellent. This inconsistency raises concerns about the overall quality of haircutting services at Lincoln Way Barber Shop.
3. Lack of Listening Skills: A customer complains about a barber named Walter who did not listen to their specific instructions and used clippers on the top of their head instead of scissor cutting. This lack of listening and miscommunication resulted in an uneven haircut that needed to be fixed. This incident reflects a weakness in the communication and attention to detail by some barbers at the shop.
4. Time Management: Another customer expresses disappointment with the time it took for their haircut to be completed. They claim that a simple touch-up turned into an hour-long session. This indicates that some barbers may struggle with time management and may not efficiently handle customer appointments.
In conclusion, the Lincoln Way Barber Shop has several strengths, including its old school atmosphere, experienced barbers, convenient location, reasonable prices, and positive customer service experiences. However, there are weaknesses related to a lack of expertise in fades, inconsistent experiences among barbers, some barbers' inability to listen to specific instructions, and potential time management issues. These weaknesses may need to be addressed to ensure a consistently enjoyable and satisfactory experience for all customers.
