Sonya always does a great job doing my sew-ins and taught me a thing or two! She is HILARIOUS!!! Yody is also a great stylist and did a great job as well! My mom and I been going here for YEARS. If you need a sew-in, drop by here, I am guaranteed you will walk out feeling FAB-U-LOUS!!! <3

I’ve been coming here for almost a decade now. I love Yodi and I respect her as a stylist and an individual.

But I have to admit that there’s been times where I get extremely uncomfortable in the shop. I believe that for how long the shop has been there, there should definitely be upgrades and more clean at this point. I often find people who come after me being serviced before me. Sometimes it’s like you have to mention 20 times that you’re there and have been waiting. It’s often hard to find a stylist in Detroit, especially a good one. Yodi is an amazing stylist, but sometimes her stylists / booth renters make me not want to come in and get my hair done. I often wish her salon was just a spot for women, and the men could take their barbershop talk next door. There’s been times I would get my hair done and the men would comment on my decisions and make me uncomfortable. There’s been times where Yodi was nearly done with my hair, and I’d tell her I’d feel more comfortable finishing my hair at home myself. She’d be confused and ask me if I was sure, and I’d say yes. I never told her the reason I’d cut my appointment short was because of the men in the shop, but it was absolutely because of them. A salon is where as I come as a woman to relax and unwind. Some of the men can be nice, but it’s annoying to hear men complain or go on misogynistic rants about women while they’re getting their haircut or cutting hair. Again I loooooove Yodi’s work. I love the women there, but coming into the shop makes me drained and depressed from all of that toxic male energy. I would love to keep going to her, but I believe I’m going to have to find someone new soon.

I brought my daughter her to get her hair done for easter. Not only was the stylist who did her hair drinking on the job she was also disrespectful. I will never come to this ratchet establishment again. I don't care how skilled they are.
