I have been with Julio since Astor Place in the village. He was great enough for me to follow him to Williamsburg Brooklyn for the last 33 years. Support minority owned businesses. The whole crew Tariq, Alex and Francis do an amazing job.
Love this place both me and my son go there even after moving away we wait to get our cuts here while visiting family❣️

It used to be pretty good. This time I asked for a skin fade on back, instead the barber just shaved all hair off in a lightning speed before I could say anything. If I want that I can do that myself. And It was really painful. The buzzers he used are old and not cleaned. I said it hurts and he didn’t change much of the approach. He walked away 3-4 times doing other things and picking up phone calls, very distracted.
I had shoulder blades hair. Had a hair cut, wash , dry and set for $ 35. . Went back almost 9 months later for a trim and set (no wash ) $50. I understand times are tough, but that's a big jump.
Friendly neighborhood hair salon where a lot of locals seem to go. Had to wait a bit for my walk-in on a Saturday, but Julio was very efficient and gave me a great haircut for a good price
Pretty good...prices change every time you go.i went...they charged me $35,for a long time...went back a month and a half later $50...very big jump!I can see going up $5,but $15 is crazy. And when your in his chair,he does other customers while you sit and wait for him to finish. 1 1/2 he I sat waiting with a half cut wet head,while he worked on 3 others at the same time!, very annoying...but he is a good hairdresser and polite!
Awesome stylist and great conversationalist. He has a great staff as well. It hasn't changed much but it is getting pricier
Best fade in Brooklyn! I've been getting my hair cut at JQ for coming on 6 years now. I've tried a bunch of other places, barbers and stylists all over BK and Manhattan, and at this point I can honestly say I'd never think of going anywhere else. Julio Quintero, the owner, is a sweet, funny, affable guy who really knows his craft, and he's never let me down. My hair cut is complicated (a hard caesar with low skin fade) and my skull is pretty uneven, so most other barbers can't get it right. Julio nails it -- EVERY TIME. Finishes his skin fades with a razor, totally legit!
For $20 I get the best haircut I can get in NYC, even compared to places where I've paid $40, $60... You name it. I also want to shout out Alex who does really good work, he's my go to if Julio's not around.
If you're looking for a barber, look no further. Go in, tell Julio what you want, he'll sort you out!
