Bedienung: Junges Mädchen sehr freundlich, jedoch ihr langes Haar fiel beim Servieren fast bis auf das Essen. Speisen waren leider sehr süß. Dafür gibt es extra süß/sauer.

This was an amazing meal. First time outside of Hong Kong I had ramen and it was really tasty. Would have preferred bigger noodles and larger pieces of veg but was very tasty. I also had duck and it was perfectly cooked. Staff was very attentive and the value was great.
Ordered a staff lunch take away so tasty. I had the crispy shredded chicken in Peking Sauce.
Ordered beef curry.
Was like eating rubber pieces. The sauce was very thick, like goop. Did not taste great. Definitely not fresh.
Chips were nice and a generous portion.
Not many choices in the area but a curry from Tesco would be a better option.
So...being one of only a few Asian style restaurants on the island the Golden Ocean doesn't have much competition and unfortunately it showed, when we ordered the other day. Now we have used Golden Ocean before and the food has been just about OK at best but on this occasion it seriously let it self down. Waiting over an hour for our order which didn't arrive (I left after an hour) when we were told it would be 15 mins, was very dissapointing. If the food was normally amazing and the service was polite then maybe just maybe I would just put it down to one of those things but it's normally not and the service is always bad at best! It's not hard to be good on an island of only one Chinese restaurant!!!! But its managed to be poor, which is a shame.
Great Chinese restaurant. Reasonably priced (prawn crackers, a portion of rice, chips, two mains and three drinks was £33). It was quiet when we went in. Food came out piping hot and was delicious.
It's one of only three places we found in Stornoway that was open for dinner on a Sunday (though we ate there on a Monday). Lost a star as other than salt and pepper there's no condiment (I asked for sweet chilli as a dipping sauce with my main).
Would recommend Golden Ocean and would dine there again.
Friendly and fast service . Restaurant and take away. Lots of choice and licensed . They have a mild traditional curry sauce and spring rolls are small but there is 3 in a portion and if you're not looking to melt you're taste buds off then it a great curry
