Myself and my other half have just moved homes. We were thinking what better way to spend our night decorating than to get a wonderful traditional chippy tea. So we chose to go to gills at stinhope road. The attitude of the Karen “serving” me was disgraceful. She couldn’t have wanted to serve me quicker. Didn’t let me look at the menu without shouting WHAT DO YOU WANT. We ordered a doner kebab and chips. The portion sizes for the fact we paid £8.40 for this kebab was crazy. If I’m paying 8.40 for some food I expect a good portion size and Atleast half decent customer service. Will never step my Nike 95s in this establishment ever again. 0/10
£2.70 for a few chips. Portion sizes about a third of what they used to be. If I had wanted an oap or small portion I would have asked for it. Absolute disgrace, try thinking about your customers and the years of support you have had from them. Never again bunch of bandits.
Very rude staff, kebab, chips and jumbo sausage all dripping in grease and tasteless. Worst part is the rip off price paid. It all went in the bin and will not be back. £1.50 just to have the sauce seprate to the kebab, absolute rip off.
The old woman needs to learn to wrap food properly 8 out of 10 times she bends my jumbo sausage

The fish was big enough to split into 3 parts. Ate one third and had chips. Bagged the other 2 bits and rest of chips and froze them for air frying later.
Staff are very warm and friendly.

Update (July 2018): pizzas are awesome, very cheesy, good quality toppings, not cheap but worth it. NOT authentic kebabs, new Lebanese one better nearby. But if want to buy always ask for extra salad. The mint sauce is particularly good. As for fish, the portions are huge as are the chips, one serving is more than enough for two people. Batter: hot, crispy and fresh flaky fish, bone free, cooked perfectly. The chips taste like they have been blanched then fried. They could be crispier but good stodgy texture and flavour. Could be due to the oil they use. Battered sausage also nice. The haggis is rare in the UK, my personal favourite, make sure you make order as takes 15 mins. One star off as they could improve choice of oil. The staff are very friendly, warm.
