A very friendly pub with a great relaxed and happy atmosphere and welcoming staff. There is plenty of parking and designated spaces for disabled people. The seats are comfy. I highly recommend the Fisherman's Rest for a very enjoyable evening. The photo is of a performer at one of the pub's Stagefright nights.
Fisherman's is a great place for a drink especially during the summer when you can sit outside and look over the valley onto the Chevin.
Nice friendly pub, good selection of beers. Big beer garden with lots of seating. Will visit again.
Great place to be for scenery and nice atmosphere! The Sunday roast cobs, only on a Sunday, are great, and popular, with vegetarian options as well. Always friendly and welcoming. Dog owners love it as do the dogs! The place is a drinking pub, rather than a food pub, but there are evenings when there is a special guest appearance of a food vendor, like a mobile pizza oven company, and they do a take-out, order in evening sometimes as well. Popular for sport events as well, and special music nights sometimes. Overall, The Fisherman's Rest is a popular welcoming local pub.
Disappointing, here for a weeks holiday and went out for a beer and food. 3 people got served before me, first standing directly behind me in a white shirt, apparently 2 pints already in . When I complained I was told they were before me. Definitely not!!! Obviously a locals bar, but not the welcoming to strangers. Also small car park. Hopefully the rest of Derbyshire will be friendlier.
Love the Fisherman's rest. Whether it's to call in for a pint after a cycle ride, a walk out for a beer with the dog or (as tonight) a meal (pizzas are Scrummy). There's always a warm welcome...
Large parking, very atmosphere place, fresh food
Came a long way for the dog show at the pub, never won a bloody thing yet some dogs won multiple times. It did seem to be quite biased to people they knew and regular customers. Very dissapointing. Won't be back!
