THE BEST CHIPS & CURRY SAUCE LOCALLY! Stop here at least once a week for those. We also did a large order for dinner & was all great. Delivered on time & very hot. Fish tasted very fresh. Owner is also very friendly & welcoming :) 100% recommend

Hands down the best fish and chips I've had, period. The batter on the fish hugs the fish and is super crispy and well seasoned - I've never had anything like it! The chips have a wonderful crispness on the outside while being soft and fluffy in the middle. Excellent value for money, polite ordering over the phone, and quick delivery. Cannot rate this highly enough!

I was at Bishops Stortford last week to pick up my son. Was originally going to eat at the popular pantry place but changed my mind when I walked past this Fish&Chips shop.

Asked the gentleman which fish he recommended and I think I had Haddock and chips which came to a total of £7.90. I thought it was a little expensive but when I opened the box, the portion was VERY generous and I couldn't finish all the chips. The batter for the fish was very good - the gentleman in the shop said if the fish wasn't good, he would give me money back! The colour of the batter was golden and not dark brown, another very promising sign for me. It felt fresh too. It was very good - thank you.

The chips was good, not as amazing as the fish and its batter.

They charge for ketchup/mayonnaise - not sure if that's a standard practice.

The food we ordered was a dream come true. The chips were transcendental. The battered sausage was luscious. The scampi were the epitome of gorgeous. The service was great too. Only 'sauce' of disappointment was that they'd sold out of ketchup bottles :-( nevertheless, life-changingly tasty food!

Absolutely the best fish and chips you can buy in the area by a long shot. The service is second to none. I asked for the fish to be without the skin and they were more than obliging, explaining that the size of the fish will seem smaller by 5%. Also they do not use frozen fish, only fresh. The taste of the fish confirmed that. They're also cheaper than most which absolutely boggles the mind as the quality outstrips anything else. The best fish and chips experience we've had by miles. Well done and thank you for such a personal service.

Arthur was super friendly and very helpful at explaining the fish! We were just passing through and got a lot of everything and it was delicious, the fish perfectly tender and flaky and the chips crispy and fluffy! Thank you!!

Best fish and chips in Bishops Stortford (from the ones I have tried). Well priced, friendly staff and reasonably priced. Even though there are no better alternatives in the town, I would prefer the food to be less greasy, especially the chips.

I would give 10 out of 10 unfortunately Google give 5 stars only but is worth it more than that!
