I've been here before and was happy with the service untill today. Went in today and the "owner" was rude- as in poor customer service was provided. No smiling welcome, was very abrupt and just didn't feel welcome at all. When ordered large portion he provided us with medium. We noticed how.everyone else had bigger portions compared to us. I remember buying large portion and it feeding two of us and this was few weeks ago. The food serving for a large meal for 8 pound is appauling atm. And same with this gentlemans attitude.

Don't walk in on Saturday. They tell you that you can't order fish on a Saturday because its for orders only. I don't understand that as walk ins save delivery.. They also had no chips done so waited and then when got home they were cold and most were brown or end pieces, and it was not a large either. You go into a fish and chips expecting guess what... a fish and chips... I would suggest visiting in a week day maybe it will be better and they won't be so flustered over serving.. Basic... Fish.. And... Chips...?! Would have taken order back if could be bothered to drive all way back.

I use castaways all the time normally amazing today it tasted strange not one of my kids ate all their dinner.the chips were really greasy with a strange taste think the oil has been changed! I think I need to find a new chippy

Ordered via Justeat. Was cold when delivered. Phoned Castaways and explained that it was cold. Was told to put put it in the microwave? Said to them why would I do that when I wanted hot food. He then asked for my card details including my 3 digit security code. Have never had a problem until this evening but definitely won't be ordering again. Not happy to say the least!

Great fresh food, which is surprising for a chippy on a Wednesday afternoon! We're not locals but will definitely come again when we pass through, chips were delicious and the mixed meat was lovely!

chips were not cooked it was still raw, portions are tiny you charge £4= 4.50 for large chips that come in a try instead of wrapped up, the prices are like london prices in nuneaton are you guys on something???

go petes chippy or even the chip shop on queens road which is way nicer and you get way more for you money. now kebab batch 4.50 and not even piping hot i had to micrwave it for a bit seriously i can get a kebab burger meal for same price. this experince give me a bad issue next day. if anyone reading this just avoid this place or just try it once, this place definitely needs to be castaway!!!!

We got fish and chips on the way home. The portions of chips were rather small and tasted as if they were cooked in old oil. The fish was lovely but the batter could have been better.

To be fair, we did order close to the end of opening hours. The dine in area looks nice and I'd certainly try breakfast or lunch when I'm next in the ar but.

Ordered food but when it arrived it was completely the wrong order. Tried calling the shop 60 time's to rectify the problem but all I kept getting was the engage tone....my guess is the phone was off the hook.

£22 wasted!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
