My experience at Callidora Day Spa was less than ideal. The only reason I didn't give one star is because the coloring was blended well (I went to another salon to ask).
The short version: I was given unrealistic expectations for what I wanted to achieve. I feel like the stylist, Ashley, was trying to achieve something for her portfolio and did not have my best interest in mind. It was very expensive for what I got. Everyone was friendly, but it was an unprofessional setting compared to what I am used. I moved from out of state about a year ago and this was the first place I tried, based on all the positive reviews.
The long version: I scheduled a cut and color at the beginning of March 2021. This was my very first time coloring my hair, so I wasn't quite sure what to expect. I had a couple of pictures and I wanted a copper balayage or silver balayage. Since I didn't know what I was doing, I figured I'd ask the professional. I was encouraged to do the silver. My hair is dark brown and has never been dyed or highlighted. I was told I could achieve what I was looking for in two treatments. My three hour appointment turned into a five and a half hour treatment and I didn't even get my hair cut. Some of the color didn't process for as long so parts of my hair were more yellow than platinum. I didn't love it, but I figured this was part of the process and I kept my second appointment.
This second three hour appointment in April 2021 turned into seven and a half. I have two little kids and I'm extremely lucky that my mom was flexible and able to babysit for me all day. The stylist was juggling three other clients while she was rushing to finish my treatment. Again, I didn't get a cut, which I had scheduled. A knot was cut out of my hair, the stylist was very, very rough with my head and my scalp was sore the next day. There was a lot of blonde showing through at the end of it and my bangs didn't even get trimmed. All in all, $500 and 13 hours of my life invested and I'm not pleased at all with the outcome.
I went to another salon and got eight inches cut off. The pictures show my hair after the second treatment and haircut, and what I showed the stylist when I went in to start the process. Needless to say, I will not be getting my hair cut or colored here again. I would have never tried for silver if I had more realistic expectations, which were explained to me by the stylist who cut my hair at a different salon.
Had one of the best massages I’ve ever had by Keith. I’ve gotten a massage at a few different places and have never felt like it was fully effective. That was not the case with Keith. I told him my problem areas and he did awesome at fixing them. I felt like for once the massage was effective at fixing my problems. He was very friendly and personable, and the environment was calming. The staff is very friendly as well and I was greeted when I arrived. If you want an effective massage I highly recommend going to Keith!
My mother made an appointment here to get her brows tinted . she was disappointed as was I. There were 4 or 5 teenage girls manning the front and had no idea who was coming or going. And nearly every question I had got an unknown response. Product that is to be used for testing was broken,empty,out, being discontinued or was in disarray. When my mom was done with her appointment, she was unhappy with the results and to add insult to injury the ridiculous $45 dollar charge to simply wax and put a couple drops of hair dye is the most jacked up price! Last time I was here was nearly 3 yrs ago. But it was that good then. It's's sad to wonder if perhaps it cost more now to wax than it did Back then? I'm pretty sure It Doesn't! Talk about inflation greed! Would not recommend again.
I loved the smell and the atmosphere when walking in. Lots of cute gift ideas. Kennedy did an awesome job ony hair. I will be returning.
Ashley dyed my hair a beautiful red/purple, and i have never been so in love with my hair! She did such a wonderful job, highly recommend her to anyone looking for a good dye and trim. I will definitely be coming back
Ragen is the best stylist I've ever had service done by. She was so considerate and patient and progressional. Keep her on ur team she is of a great asset to ur business and promotion of it. I'm super satisfied with her talent and will be returning to her and her only from here on out. Thank u so much. And the calidora salon is a all in one stop shop for any services highly customer first based designed. It's huge lol extremely clean and the owner I hear is amazing to and the employees spoke highly of her and her daughter. Incredibly ran business with especially talented amazing stylist. U got an amazing team aboard. Keep them they're the best! Thank u again I'll b back in a few months! ????????
Greatest Salon in town. Great selection of products and gifts for sale in the front. I only get mens cuts here but I always here from other customers how great all the services and independent professionals are! Go check it out!
I had VERY long hair, past my waist and hadn't visited a salon in about 2 years, because of a past experience. I have to say Alex is absolutely amazing! She gave me exactly what I wanted and was extremely nice and professional. She was very helpful and knowledgeable explaining what products would work best for me. I will definitely be returning!❤????
