Bought four cakes this morning, 2 cream donuts and 2 cream shell puff things and asked if they were fresh cream, the girl serving said they were. Well they were awful, stale, the pastry was like dry cardboard and the cream very sweet synthetic stuff. Very disappointing as they actually looked lovely and weren’t cheap! sadly they were inedible and ended up in the bin. My guests had to be content with Jaffa cakes.
Sorry I won’t be buying from your shop again.
Definitely not the proper traditional bakers I remember. Was there about 12.30 so plenty of stuff to choose from if you like chocolate. Got what I thought was a cream meringue mums favourite to her disgust it was filled with better cream. They never said it wasn't cream. The Cornish pasties pastry where very hard not nice. But to be fair had a very nice filling. Very disappointed not a traditional bakers cake in the shop. Really fancied a Belgian bu or chealse, or even a decent doughnut. Definitely won't be going back very disappointed.
