I LOVED this place!! Pearla helped me and she was fabulous! I was in great hands. She really made my hair look amazing for some shows at New York Fashion Week!! It made my trip to New York amazing!! Highly recommend!
Tara made my hair look fabulous. I had a last minute red carpet event and made an appointment at Blo. Tara did a gorgeous blow-out that was perfect for my red carpet photos! And she was kind and just the loveliest soul. I would go back to Tara for every special occasion!
Jada did my makeup. She was also fantastic. She does hair and makeup and she made my look absolutely gorgeous for the red carpet photos.
The only reason that I'm giving a 4 rating is that my face broke out from the products that BLO uses for makeup and possibly the applicator sponges. I have sensitive skin and the sponges should be single use on each customer as opposed to sharing etc.
I would definitely go back. And work with both of these lovely ladies.
I've been going to Blo in Chelsea for a few years now. There are times when i go on a weekly basis and times where I don't go for a few months. No matter when I go, I always have a great experience, but this particular time, they really outdid themselves.
I planned a day with my 4-year-old to go out, get lunch and have a "beauty day" - hair and nails. I made our appointments the day before with ease. In fact, the girl on the phone was so sweet when I told her my 4 year old would be joining me this time around. When we arrived, we were greeted by friendly staff and brought immediately back to get washed. We didn't have to wait at all. This was my daughter's first time getting her hair done and the staff did not disappoint. They were so attentive to her. They were gentle and kind. I'm so sorry I cannot recall everyone's names, but it was 12:30pm on Friday August 23rd for the record. I sat across from my daughter and the look on her face as her curly hair was transformed was priceless. She loved every moment of it. Throughout our time there, the manager kept checking in with both my daughter and myself. They even brought her a cup of water and trust me, she loved every minute of being pampered. I'm so appreciative of the staff at Blo for giving us the best experience. I am certainly no stranger, and will continue coming back, but now you have a new client, my 4 year old, who is already asking when we can go again! :)
This is an awesome Blo Blow Dry Bar location. I’ve been coming here for a little over a year now (15+ times) and I’m never disappointed. I usually have a different stylist every time since I pick my appointment based on time that works best for me, but it really doesn’t matter because all the stylists here know what they’re doing. The other great thing about this place is how efficient they are - I rarely have to wait for my stylist after I arrive and the check out process so extremely easy if you keep your card on file.
Service was quick and efficient but VERY strict policy about arriving within 10 minutes of appointment. I arrived 12 minutes late and they could only offer me a dry styling and I paid full price. I understand why these policies have to be in place but I called ahead to give an update on my arrival and the front desk staff was extremely curt and rude with me. Probably will not return based on this experience which I have not had with other blow dry places in the city.
The staff here are very kind and accommodating. I needed a last minute appointment and they were happy to book me within an hour.
My hair stylist gave me exactly what I asked for, and finished in under 25 minutes.
The only reason I couldn’t rate this salon 5 stars is because of the hairdryers, which I felt were not particularly powerful which resulted in my blowout not lasting over 24 hours. It didn’t completely get messed up, but o think it would look better had the hairdryer been slightly hotter.
Keep returning to Blow Dry Bar, because of their professional & quick service! Natalie at Blo Chelsea was attentive to hear my concerns about how my naturally curly hair sometimes doesn’t hold a blowout well. She was able to use techniques that made the blowout last throughout the night! Thank you!
Every time I have gone there, I could have easily done a better job on my own. Save your money. Not only are the products so heavy in your hair (made my hair feel fried) but my hair dropped both times within an hour of leaving. I have thick wavy hair, very easy to style. Not going back.
