Belle Meade Barber Shop has been my choice for looking great for the past 3 years. I’ve had haircuts from all the guys. Chad is my go-to guy. Friendly, professional service at $20 plus tip can’t be beat.
First time here and I will not be going back. Extremely rude and terrible customer service. In addition, the barber botched my hair when all I asked was to clean up the sides. They are still a cash only store so I would suggest going to a barber that is a little more current with the 21st century. Needless to say, this was a very frustrating experience and would have rather gone to supercuts.
I’d cut my hair at home before going back here. Asked for a 3 on the sides and 2 inches off top with it blended on a side. Ended up with the front of my hair cut at a slope with 1 side probably 4 inches long and the other side 2. Had clumps of hair around my ears that were not cut off and had to be fixed elsewhere. Hair crafters style haircut, no conversation at all, just trying to speed through haircuts in 15 minutes or less. Never even used scissors at the top which is now awfully blended. Barber seemed to have not known what “blending” meant and instead of asking, just sliced away
Chad was great!! Prices in TN are higher than LV, NV but not unreasonable.
Would definitely go back!!
Go get a haircut!
I got my haircut here 4 or 5 times a couple years ago. But I could never get them to cut it short enough. I stopped going to them for a long time because they wouldn't listen. So I've been getting my haircut at another place for awhile and have been very happy with the cut but I needed one last minute today and they had no openings so reluctantly I gave Belle Mead Barber shop one more chance. Before I went I called and asked them if they could do a "bald fade". The guy on the phone laughed and said sure he can do it just come on by. So I got there and asked him again because his laugh made me wonder if he knew what I was talking about. He said he laughed because "...only black people call it a bald fade. White people call it a taper or just plain fade." (I'm white) I didn't care much for his racism or his attitude but I figured at least he could do the cut. So while he was cutting away I was explaining why I call it a "bald" fade instead of just a "fade" and how if I don't call it that then barbers will never cut the fade short enough (bald=down to the skin how I like it). So after explaining in great detail what I wanted he gets done and hands me a mirror. I took one look and said "this isn't a bald fade" at which point he started arguing that it was. While his father (the owner) chimed in to tell me this is what they call a bald fade. I had to actually explain to them that "Bald doesn't mean short. Bald means BALD. As in down to the skin like with a razor." He then said "well we don't do that here." And charged me $18 for the haircut. What kind of BS barber shop is this. Racist, arrogant, dishonest, and will never get this customers business again.
A true barber shop! No appointments required cash only ATM on site fast friendly and professionally done! Don't get fooled by "fancy" barber shops that pretend to be old fashioned but use computers and the internet to schedule appointments! If your barber requires an appointment chances are your at a salon. And if you're at a salon double check to see if your a man! Great place here!
They are not professional and their racist as well...This was my cousins experience....I just came up here to get a hair cut I ask for a line and a taper. First thing, if u don't know how to cut African Americans you should of said just that. I paid 15 for a patch in my head, then when my girl call he said my hair was nappy. Your job wasn't to judge me, your job was to tell me that you didn't really know what you were doing, then you laughed in my face. I would never spend money with this suppose to be "place of business." I'm sitting up talking like ever other man in a barbershop, they treated me like I didn't exist, didn't even respond to me when I joined the conversation. They also mentioned that black people should comb there hair before coming to the barbershop. Now I went to International Barbering and learn from the best. You are trained to cut any type of hair, just say you don't cut people of color hair.
Best haircut I've had in years! Traditional southern barbershop with very welcoming and friendly barbers. After going for the first time I will defiantly be a return customer for the foreseeable future.
