Went there the first time in 2008. Have not gone anywhere else ever since. I drive more than 25 miles to get there. This is heaven for men.
The place is so legendary, a random guy sitting next to me on a plane from SF to DC made an appointment for a haircut on his cell phone before take off, and I knew it was Balston Barber Shop the moment he said a woman's name without mentioning the shop. Get a facial with your haircut.
Best barber shop in Ballston! Friendly and professional service at a reasonable price. Service includes the small extras like using razor shaves of neck, trimming eyebrows, hot towels, and giving a relaxing head massage. Highly recommend the cute Miss Ha who has the barber chair in the front window.
$20 for a haircut. I didn't have to wait on a Saturday afternoon. Great service, they were very kind and a great first impression. I got a 3 on the sides. They did a great job on the neck as well and showed a mirror. They also do a hot towel and a shoulder massage at the end and offered a water. I wasn't facing the mirror throughout the cut.

Classic barbershop cut - she took the time to make sure the details were immaculate. Clippers on the sides, scissors on the top, hot towels, razor shave on the back of the neck and around the ears - not a hair out of place. Then I got a scalp massage that felt so good I almost fell asleep in the chair. Real expertise at a very reasonable price.
My old barber moved away so I’ve been in the process of trying new places. Was surprised by the reviews on here and decided to try it out. Well, don’t get Kristine. Asked for a one of the sides with a fade. She proceeded to take a one all the way to the top, no fade whatsoever. She also had me turned around so I couldn’t see what was happening until too late. I was in and out in about 10min which shows you how much fidelity was considered when cutting my hair.
Very professionally run barber shop. It's $20 for a regular cut, but includes a hot towel and short massage at the end. The only thing I would point out is they ask you to tip in cash only, which was a little surprising.
