Lecker ????
Cute from the outside, staff were friendly, we ordered and had to wait outside, good news the sun was shining so no problem. When the order was ready we were called back in to collect the, the chips were delicious however the size of the portion was tiny I thought for £2.20! I would try another place next time we pop over.
Took the "OAP lunch" offer of fish, chips, bread and butter with a cuppa for £7.20. Overall the food and portion size were good. Served fresh and hot in good time. Condiments available on the table so no silly small sachets of sauce to deal with.
Service was a bit "brisk." Not the friendliest welcome or table service but I got my food as ordered and without issue.
I do agree with the previous review about the decor. Seats are worn and in some cases, with ingrained dirt. However, tables were being cleaned between customers so I wasn't too worried.
Overall score of 3 stars. Living in Notts beside the current "Best UK chippy" gives me something 5 star standard to benchmark against. Audrey's certainly isn't an award winner, but its a good, honest seaside chippy.
Lived in Bridlington for three years and decided to try Audrey's as it advertises itself as the best fish and chips in Brid. I ordered small haddock and chips at £6.30. I have to say it was the worst fish and chips that I can recall trying to eat. The fish was thin tail end and completely overcooked so that most of it was unable to chew. The chips were OK but that didnt make up for a very disappointing meal. I will not be repeating it.
Nice fish and chips and dog friendly, great to pop in after a long walk on the beach.
Fish and chips were very nice and not greasy at all.
Only criticism was that the curry sauce is not served separately. I will ask next time though!
We went in this cafe as it says dog friendly but friendly is the wrong word it should say dog tolerant we were told not to feed or water our dog inside at the very least you would think they would have a bowl of water to make it feel that your dog was welcome!. We had to wait 25 minutes before our order was taken and then after waiting 15mins for our food they missed part of our order but realising how long our food took we decided not to ask for our peas god knows when they would have arrived .The fish was tasteless considering we were at the seaside. The food was hot and that folks is the only GOOD thing I can say about our one and only visit to this establishment
We decided to try the Golden Years special after it was recommended by friends. We were not disappointed, lovely crispy batter and good fish, only downside was the skin.
We haven't been to Audrey's for a number of years after having a few bad experiences. Much improved. Thanks
Called today for a fish and chips lunch. Coffee was weak and cheap and nasty. Fish and chips were average and in places the batter was soggy. Asked to pay for the meal once order was taken not and the end. Service was average and never asked once how was the meal. Would I visit again? NO!
