I have been going to this barber for about 6 months. They don't take appointments so it's walk in's only. I showed up today and there were 2 people in front of me so I decided to stay. Another guy walks in and the guys ask him if he called, to which he replied yes. He immediately got a seat in front of everyone that was waiting. Like 10 mins later another guy walks in and was like I've been waiting in the parking lot so I'm behind the other two guys. I said that's not it works but the barbers agreed that he was there first. What I'm trying to say is there's no telling on how long you will be waiting once you show up. The haircuts are really good there but that's not a great way to conduct business.
I walked in and the guy said what I wanted I have about 6 inches of hair on my head I told him just a fade to a 1 on the sides and take .5 of an inch off the top he progresses to cut about 5 inches off my top and makes my fade halfway up my head worst listener on planet earth and not to mention but he was on his phone the entire time I suggest nobody go there unless you’re a marine looking for a buzz cut legit all theirs good at
I went there twice before for my sons haircut and did excellent. Today I took them and the one guy unfortunately didn't catch his name but was quite rude. Both of my boys cried and the one that was rude did a horrible job. Broke my heart to see them so upset
I have Straight hair. After 3 haircuts this place is a little cheaper and you can get a decent haircut. They won't let you leave looking crazy but my fades were subpar and the styling/shaping was the same. Meaning when it grows back both sides are at different lengths so your hair is off for a couple of weeks. Switched barbershop.
I’m very disappointed. I called to see what the prices were. And their response was what do you want. When I shared with him that I was wondering when I could get a haircut. He hung up on me. I called three other times this week. And they have hung up on me.
No one greeted or said will be right with you. My stylist didn't speak much to me, which I don't mind. I asked to have my beard lined up, and didn't realize how uneven the bottom of my beard was until after leaving. There is almost an inch difference between sides. It looks ridiculous. Would not recommend.
Went in and there were 3 people ahead of me. A few more other trickled in after and apparently were friends with the barbers or family, so they allowed them cut in. Forget that. I have better things to do on a Saturday. I have used this location and the one on Dowling many times before. I say skip this location and go to Dowling. Far better service, quality, the place is cleaner and doesn’t reak all the time like the one on Old Seward does
My son went in only 2 people ahead of him I ask will he need a appointment or walk in they said walk in just have to wait for the 2 other people, 90 minutes later he still hasn't been seen then 1 employees is leaving for an hour the rest of the people have appointments. They should have told me no were booked poor communication skills unprofessional.

Quick Facts About Yankee Barber Shop II, Old Seward Hwy.

Yankee Barber Shop II on Old Seward Hwy has received a mix of positive and negative comments from customers. In order to analyze the strengths and weaknesses of this barber shop, let's carefully examine each comment provided.
One recurring issue mentioned by multiple customers is the lack of organization and fairness when it comes to waiting times. Customers have experienced situations where people who called ahead or arrived after them were given priority, leading to frustration and uncertainty about wait times. This is a clear weakness as it indicates poor management and customer service.
Another weakness highlighted by customers is the lack of attention and listening skills exhibited by some barbers. One customer complained that the barber cut off much more hair than requested and failed to execute the desired fade correctly. Additionally, the barber was reportedly constantly on the phone during the haircut, which is unprofessional behavior. This reveals a weakness in terms of the quality of service provided and the professionalism of some employees.
Rudeness from a particular barber was mentioned by a customer who witnessed his sons crying during their haircuts due to the barber's rough treatment. This is a significant weakness, as rudeness and poor treatment of customers can lead to a negative reputation for the barber shop.
Another customer complained about the inconsistency and lack of precision in fading and shaping the hair. The customer noticed that both sides were cut at different lengths, resulting in an uneven appearance. This demonstrates a weakness in terms of the skill and attention to detail of the barbers.
Several customers also mentioned poor communication and unprofessionalism when it came to inquiries about prices and appointments. One customer reported being hung up on multiple times when trying to inquire about prices. Another customer mentioned the lack of greetings upon arrival and the stylist's minimal communication during the haircut. This indicates a weakness in terms of customer service, as friendly and efficient communication is crucial for a positive experience.
On the other hand, a few customers did mention some strengths of the barber shop. One customer appreciated that the prices were cheaper compared to other places and mentioned receiving decent haircuts. This indicates that Yankee Barber Shop II offers affordable services. However, the same customer mentioned that the fades and styling were subpar, suggesting that the quality of the haircuts may not always be consistent.
One customer recommended a different location of Yankee Barber Shop (on Dowling) over the Old Seward Hwy location. According to this customer, the Dowling location provided better service, higher quality haircuts, and a cleaner environment. This suggests that the Old Seward Hwy location might have weaknesses in comparison to other locations of the same barber shop.
In conclusion, the strengths of Yankee Barber Shop II on Old Seward Hwy appear to be affordable prices and the ability to prevent customers from leaving with an extreme or poorly executed haircut. However, the weaknesses include the lack of organization in managing wait times, poor listening skills and professionalism exhibited by some employees, rudeness towards customers, inconsistency in haircuts, poor communication, and an overall lower quality of service compared to other locations of the same barber shop.
