Good chips and crispy battered fish which are cooked to order, no waiting inside. Sadly no mini fish or kids portion fish available. Cards taken.
Chips tasted great but over £2 for a chips (requested large, but it wasn't an option?) Back home a portion of chips from a chip shop will usually go between 3 kids, but found the portion size very small and did not reflect the price
Chips good. They let me taste the curry very nice I've ordered 2 chips and a tube of curry afew cans. Got back and they forgot to put the curry in the bag. Gutted
Fantastic chippy and lovely staff.
Since moving to Abergele, we have used VILLAGE CHIPPY 4 times now. We have always ordered on the phone and arranged a pick up time.
The fish is always fresh and the chips are second to none. We love the curry sauce with a jumbo sausage.
The staff are really friendly.
Absolutely the best fish& chips ive had in a long while ..the curry sauce is gorgeous .. popped in after the beach with my hubby .daughter & grandaughter (who is very fussy i might add) but we all thoroughly enjoyed it .. we all had different meals ..oh & i must mention the sausage for thedog .. cant wait to go again ..????????
Called in after a lovely pint at the Valentine down the road which by the way is lovely. Asked for a very large portion of chips and the serving was pathetic. Must have been 20 pence worth and mot that nice as well . Never again . How much profit do you need to make from a spud .
The most disgusting fish I’ve ever had! Clearly refried-batter was very dark and literally inedible and the fish it contained didn’t taste nice either. Would not recommend I’m afraid……unless you go for chips, they were ok!
Decent fish and chips, curry was good too. Fish a little small and greasy for my taste.. Not bad, check opening times, which are only a few hours SOME days..

Quick Facts About Village Chippy

Village Chippy has received a mixture of positive and negative comments, highlighting both its strengths and weaknesses. In order to provide a comprehensive analysis, we will delve into these comments further and assess the overall strengths and weaknesses of the establishment.
Starting with the strengths, several customers have praised the quality of the chips and the crispy battered fish. The fact that the food is cooked to order is also mentioned as a positive aspect, as it ensures freshness. Additionally, the staff is described as friendly and the service is generally efficient, with no waiting inside.
Another strength of Village Chippy is that they accept card payments. In an era where cashless transactions are becoming increasingly common, accepting cards is essential to cater to a wider customer base and provide convenience.
Moving on to the weaknesses, one common complaint is the portion size of the chips. A customer mentions that the portion size was small and did not justify the price, especially considering that back home in their experience, a portion of chips would feed three children. This suggests that Village Chippy should reconsider their portion sizes and price accordingly to meet customer expectations and provide better value for money.
Furthermore, there are comments about missing items in takeout orders, such as curry sauce, which can be frustrating for customers. Attention to detail and ensuring all items are included in the order is essential to maintain customer satisfaction.
Another weakness mentioned is the limited opening times of Village Chippy. Some customers highlight that the establishment is only open for a few hours on certain days. This can be inconvenient for customers who may want to visit outside of these limited hours. Expanding the opening hours to accommodate more customers and increase accessibility would be beneficial for the business.
While the general consensus is positive regarding the chips, there are some negative comments about the fish. One customer describes the batter as being very dark and inedible, suggesting that it may have been refried. This indicates that there may be inconsistencies in the cooking process and quality control, leading to some subpar fish. Improving the batter and ensuring consistency in the cooking process would be important to address this criticism.
In conclusion, Village Chippy has several strengths, including good chips and crispy battered fish cooked to order, friendly staff, and the acceptance of card payments. However, there are some notable weaknesses, such as small portion sizes, occasional missing items in orders, limited opening times, and inconsistencies in the quality of the fish. By addressing these weaknesses and making the necessary improvements, Village Chippy can further enhance its reputation and customer satisfaction.
