Lovely setting. Very busy as always. Love it, however, we thought the dairy free and gf cake were incredibly small servings compared to the regular cake. Not sure why that would be.
Second visit for lunch. I had the most delicious toastie with fries and salad followed by their home-made ice cream which is just amazing!
Absolutely brilliant breakfast this morning. Great quality, great variety. Beautiful barn setting too. All the staff were brilliant, very friendly and helpful. Just an absolute pleasure to eat here!
Highly outstaffed or not trained properly?
Was waiting for 30 min with a menu and no one came to me to take my order while I had been told someone would do so.
Not cheap but quality was very good. We were cramped on a small round table and when we asked if we could move we were told we couldn't even though some of he larger tables were never taken (?) Not the quickest service but that didn't matter as the food was exceptionally well presented. The staff we met were polite and pleasant enough.
Disappointed. Have visited for years and always impressed with delightful array of cakes. This morning they only had scones plus gf chocolate brownie. They were lovely but lack of choice really disappointing. Perhaps it's because it's been bank holiday.
Bizarre idea of not serving between 1130 and 1200, due to change of menus. Coffee only warm. Uninspiring choices. Poor Gluten free options. Came away hungry. Slow service.
If the waiting staff used trays they could clean tables quicker.
We had a lovely lunch in this cafe and thoroughly enjoyed the food and service. There was a wait for our choosen dishes but were quite surprised when they came. They were attractively presented and of nice quality. My wife had a ploughman's and I had a beef and mushroom pie both of which were delicious. The in-house pie contained more meat and mushrooms than I had ever previously experienced when eating out. As this venue is very popular it is recommended that you reserve a table to avoid disappointment.
Lovely table service, friendly staff, can eat inside or out in the courtyard.
Lots of menu choices. Advised to ring to book a table during busy times.
