This is a very interesting place. I’m a regular. I go to this place every 3-4 weeks to get my hair cut with my son. Now, my standard of a “hair cut” is pretty low since I get a 2 all around. It satisfies me and my simple needs. My son usually doesn’t need as much assistance with his hair either. Yet growing up, his style has become more mature and similar to boys his age. Here’s the thing about this place; they are terrible at listening and following directions. Every time my son repeatedly says to NOT cut the top of his hair (he styles it) they absolutely do the opposite and follow what I have. I deduce that they are not good at adaptability. They are the NICEST barbers you’ll find in Silverlake, however, their skills do not match up with their customer service. If you need something simple, like a quick buzz or chop in the bangs, this place is for you. Other than that, do not decide to go experimental. I have now recently change my sons barber to someone who is more better adapt to his style .

Make sure you ask how much before they do anything. Hair color…granted they do a good job on the service you request. however, it’s a different price each time. When my hair was long I paid $65 which included coloring my hair, product and blow dry & style. Well this last time my hair is short they charged $55 to color, $10 for product and another $25 to blow dry it.

I’ve used SBS almost since it opened…. The staff are always friendly. Lucy always cuts my naturally curly hair; MiMi also does a great job, (she’s very patient with my dad who’s got Alzheimer’s ) my husband & son also go here for Haircut, shave & eyebrow waxing & like it a lot. Nancy & Kim give me awesome pedi’s, with cute decorations; all the girls are great though, and the shop is very clean. I’m not sure why there’s negative reviews, I’ve never had a problem with any of the staff. If there’s anything special I wanted as a design they’ve always been very accommodating & always design something cute on my big toes. It’s not super fancy, but they’re kind, nice, clean, & very affordable.

I’ve been around when it comes to nail shops, this place NEVER fails. Price and quality cannot be beat. I recently moved to Pasadena and will make the drive to this place every single time because the nail techs are incredible and make sure I’m comfortable every time. I wouldn’t call myself a regular cause I only get my nails done every so often, but this is the place!!

Awesome!! Everyone is talented--especially Kim and Lucy!! Kim did my Solar Nails for years, but, now, only manicures because of my job. Lucy works magic with my unruly hair. I used to live in Pearland, but moved over 50 miles away. I drive 100+ miles, round trip, every month to 6 weeks to Silverlake, my "Go to" Beauty Salon.

We started coming here because the hairstylists are friendly and very good. You can basically go to any of the hairstylist and get great results.

They will charge you the price of a full leg wax ($35) for what is suppose to be half leg (knee to ankle $20). Nice staff but they don't go by the prices listed.

Have been going here for awhile and let me just say that my confidence in my hair has sky rocketed ever since I first stepped foot in. Service is great for the fact that they let me and my mother get our hair done some time past closing along with the fact that they did an outstanding job. If I had to describe my feeling every time I walk out of their salon, I would just sing "Feeling Good" by Michael Bublé.
