Food here is always amazing and the staff are really friendly!!

Everything is cooked fresh including the bread which is homemade and cooked fresh.. amazing!!!

You can watch them prepare your food.

Best Turkish take away in bedford by far!!!!

Excellent and delicious authentic and traditional Turkish cuisine and kebabs. I have ordered several times from here, and highly recommend you try the Shish Chef's Special for 3 People (£29.50), just for my partner and I, it lasts us two days as there is plenty of sides with it too and the sauces are something else! When I first ordered I thought (and said to the chef) a bit expensive for Bedford (although there are too many cheap and tasteless options on Midland Road), but when I tasted the food I was thrilled and pleasantly surprised, as was my lady. As the saying goes "You get what you pay for". You can see and taste that the meat and the marination used is of the finest quality by a genuine Turkish chef. I am very familiar and frequent some of the top Turkish kebab restaurants in west London and I must say, this is up there amongst them in quality and taste. My partner and I now take turns in treating each other every other week to the Chef's Special.

I also feel compelled to leave a comment as regards the few and unfair couple of 1 star reviews posted on here; which I feel go too far, very underserving (maybe 3 or 4 stars would have been more appropriate and honest), but 1 star, I must say is making a "meal out of it" (pun intended), as I am sure they also ate and very much enjoyed the food, as have many others on here. I noticed they are doing very well on Just-Eat with 300+ plus reviews at 5.3 out of 6, keep up the good work.

Lastly, I want to thank the staff and especially the chef, who I have found to be very courteous and polite at all times, for bringing such good food to Bedford and I have been and will continue to recommend you highly to all my friends and family. Apologies for such a long post in appreciation of your food and service, but I felt strongly that I had to give credit, where credit is rightly due.

Shish is a welcome addition to the food scene in Bedford. Ordered the Platter for 3, which is adequate for 3 ppl to eat. Pricing wise you paying prices expected if you having a sit down meal, for a takeout. The meat was of a good quality, rice and salad let the meal down abit. The yogurt dip was amazing. Overall a decent meal.

Again tonight we go the 'Shish family special' delivered.Everything was delicious and freshly made including the bread and sauces. We are a family of 4 and there is always enough for lunch the next day. I would recommend to anyone!

Worst Turkish food I’ve ever eaten. And I come from a Turkish family. It’s Over priced, cold and tasteless. I don’t wish to have peas and sweetcorn in my rice. The chips are vile and cheap. I don’t mind paying money for meat but when you get 3 bits of lamb and 1 kofte for £13.50 and it’s bone cold it’s nothing but daylight robbery. Bread- no comment. Never again

Just ordered a mixed platter for 3 which was absolutely delicious. Portion size was great and the sauces were the best we've had. After moving to Bedford and struggling to find a decent Turkish restaurant I'm so glad this has opened. Will definitely be our go to place from now on.

I've ordered from Shish 3 times. The first two times were pretty good. The third time was awful, we ordered the platter and I had severe food poisoning. I have never been so sick in my life. I had severe diarrhoea, cold sweats, temperature and vomiting. In hindsight I should have gone to the hospital and this case would have been reported, I wouldn't wish what happened to me to anyone. The restaurant are lucky I am young and healthy... if this happened to an elderly person I genuinely don't think they would have made it. Would never purchase again and I don't think I can eat Turkish food ever again :(

Today
