I am sorry to write this negative review but, it’s been 4 days since I had my pedicure here and I still need a pedicure.
I was visiting my sister in Watsonville and was desperate for a pedicure and Googled the closest one that was open. It was 5:00pm.
It is a large nail salon. Not super modern but adequate. Unfortunately, the nail technician that I had was highly unprofessional, skipped key steps in my pedicure, and had poor customer service skills. I selected the most expensive pedicure for $39, I was so relieved that they were open and could see me. Sadly, everything else was down hill from there. I would never return and cannot recommend this nail salon.
Here’s my experience at Michelle’s:
-1). Water was warm, almost cokd, not bath bomb or any added product to water-usually if you are getting the high end treatment- they add something.
2). She skipped cuticle treatment and barely used her tools. At first, I wanted to just watch and see if she’d circle back to it. She did not. I intervened and requested that she please do that procedure.
3). Terrible massage which comes with the more expensive treatment-15 minutes worth. She phoned it in. So unenthusiastic about doing it. After 5 mins or so, I asked her to change her method. She did and tried her best. But had an attitude and spoke out loud about. It was in Vietnamese and I speak English and Spanish- so I didn’t have a clue.
4). She skipped the clear, base polish. I reminded her that she did and she giggled and quickly started over to apply it.
This was just a bad experience. I remained polite but irritated. I still gave her a $5 cash tip. She did not deserve it. I thought it was a waste of time and money. I would have complained to the management but, I really don’t think she would have cared. Needless to say, I told my sister about it and cautioned her about this salon. I wore my mask the entire time- as did the nail technicians in the salon.
Leaving this review pains me but, after several days I just still feel ripped-off and wanted to alert others. Maybe it was on Off-day, maybe not..?
0/5 review. I am extremely disappointed with this place. They claim to be “appointment” based, yet fail to meet their own time frames. My gf had an appointment @10 and michelle had her waiting 40+ mins. (Disclaimer: I was dying in the car). Very poor service that we had to walk out. On top of that, the shop was extremely disgusting.
I was a bit hesitant based on reviews, I’m glad I looked past them. It was very nice and quiet. Even the employees speak to you in a soft voice that my poor hearing had to adjust to the calm environment. Go with time. They take their time in the best way! Even though I was there late and the shop closed while I was still there I did not feel rushed in the slightest. Helen took her time, she was sweet and listened to exactly what I wanted. I will definitely be going back.
If I could give 0 stars I would. I’ve been her a few times, but NEVER again!! Always a bad experience with the workers with them being rude or not wanting to do a simple design (flower, or lines, etc.) this last time I got the owner Michelle, and oh boy, she is extremely rude. They make you feel uncomfortable since you can tell that they are talking bad about you. Then when it came for my picking a color she throw the nails onto the table and asked what color with an attitude. Not even a minute passed when she asked again in a mad voice. I feel like they do it rushed and not professional. It hasn’t even been a whole day and the gel on my acrylic nails is already chipping, which has never happened before. Never again. Always a bad experience.
I would ignore the bad reviews if your a new person looking for a salon; I'm sure the bad reviews are all a bunch of "Karens". I have been coming to this salon for many years and I have never walked out disappointed. Many of the reviews are talking about appointments and waiting long. I recommend making your appointments early between 10am-12pm. If you walk in in the afternoon you will definitely be waiting a while. People need to understand this place is a great salon so of course they will be busy, especially in the afternoons. As for some people saying Michelle is "rude" she is not, she is just a very serious person. She's not coming to work to make friends she's there to do her job, which she does very well. Never fails at what you want done.
I love coming here, specially for my pedicures tracy is my favorite. She does such a great job!! So patient and alwaya takes care of me and leaves my feet looking beautiful and soft!!????

They don't respect appointment time, you still have to wait. I went in for a pedicure & manicure USING MY OWN NAIL POLISH & some how still got charge $60. Another time I waited over 1hr, I got up and left because I had other things to do, went back the next day & the owner told me "you shouldn't have left yesterday" they were going to close in 1 1/2 hr and she basicly she told me she was closed already.
Michelle the owner is not professional. She treats her employees and customers badly, I don't speak their language but you can see her attitude towards them. She did my nails with a bad attitude, it seems like everything bothers her . Even if you change your mind to a different color , she starts giving you attitude. Horrible service. I don’t recommend this place at all .
