Walked in for pricing on beard trim. Walked in and was completely ignored when 2 barbers weren’t busy. I spoke up and couldn’t get a price from anyone.
One of the free barbers said to the other free barber, “you want this one”… the barber who was sitting in his own chair shook his head and didn’t even say anything. Then barber says Ok I got you….STILL NO PRICE. So I walked out…
I felt unwelcome and discriminated against.
I took my nephew for a cut after I had already washed trimmed and picked it out. They wanted to charge $30. He was in the chair for 30 minutes. He is 6. I had no idea it cost that much for a child... Nope.
Having a good barber as a guy is crucial. Mike and the crew at In The Cut are always upbeat , welcoming and do a great job. I’ve gotten all my haircuts here over the last year and couldn’t be more pleased .

Each of the Barbers were welcoming and professional, as the shop was comfortable looking and clean. I had a small afro about 4" on top and 2-3" around the sides and back. The issue is, I provided a picture of the style cut I wanted to Travis who mentioned he had "26 years" of experience, He said " I got you". I don't have the appropriate words to express the botched up cut, I literally have scalped patches throughout my head and one side is cut so close, it looks as though he used the wrong clipper guard, then covered it up with some kind of black spray. When I arrived home and really took a closed look in the mirror I was HORRIFIED. I AM SO UNHAPPY and DISAPPOINTED.
There was a wait and was told to come back at 2PM, the barber was clueless and took someone else. Be a man of your word, Latt.
I’ve been coming here since they opened. We brought my grandfather to them up until he passed away, it was always very welcoming, good conversation, and quality cuts. The last 3 years I’ve been coming, the quality of the experience has dropped, drastically. I’d say of the last 7 haircuts I got, none of them have been up to par. Uneven lines, missed spots, cuts..name it. I still went and gave business and conversation throughout all this. The haircuts are rushed now days, and it seems impossible to get a quality cut where I’m not fixing it when I get home and see it in a better mirror and lighting. Today kinda just sealed it for me. I walked up an hour before close, door locked, one child getting a hair cut, a stylist in the back about to leave. I explained how I work 7am-8pm in SC and how it’s hard to get off work early enough to make it here, but I managed to today, only to be told they were done for the night. I don’t know, I just expected more from a place I’ve given business to for 7+ years. This isn’t directed at all the barbers there, there’s a good few.
I went to this barbershop for 4.5 years while attending college in Charlotte. Very nice atmosphere - you’ll get a good laugh on any given day. The owner of the shop was my barber and I received compliments every single week on how crisp of a fade I had. The prices here are high, but you’ll pay for what you like.. and a good fade isn’t easy to come by. Easy to setup appointments, too. Great barbershop!
Great courteous service barbershop. Mr. Doug is a great barber. He got skills in cutting hair. Highly recommended.
